Our
Story
Get to Know Us
Stand Alone Counseling was founded in 2025 with the mission of increasing access to mental health services across the state of Virginia. Currently, we provide therapy sessions via telehealth, making it easier for individuals to receive care regardless of their location. However, we are actively working toward opening physical office locations, which will give our therapists the opportunity to offer in-person sessions within the communities we serve.
Our team of therapists brings a diverse range of professional experiences, with all members having backgrounds in crisis intervention. Several of our clinicians specialize in issues affecting veterans and men, while others focus on working with adolescents, treating anxiety disorders, and supporting individuals dealing with substance use. Stand Alone Counseling is more than a service—we're a growing part of the communities we serve, dedicated to making mental health care local, personal, and accessible.
Services
Through convenient and confidential telehealth services, Stand Alone Counseling supports the mental health needs of individuals and couples—children, teens, and adults alike.

Individual Therapy
Individual therapy offers a safe, confidential space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and life challenges one-on-one with a licensed therapist. At Stand Alone Counseling, we tailor each session to meet your unique needs—whether you're coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or simply looking for personal growth. Our therapists are here to support you with compassion, evidence-based practices, and a commitment to helping you move toward healing and self-understanding at your own pace.

Couples Therapy
Couples therapy provides a supportive environment for partners to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, and work through challenges together. At Stand Alone Counseling, our therapists help couples navigate a wide range of issues—from conflict resolution and rebuilding trust to navigating life transitions or deepening emotional connection. Whether you're facing a specific concern or simply want to strengthen your partnership, our goal is to help both individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow—together.

EAP
In addition to individual and couples therapy, Stand Alone Counseling provides Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, partnering with organizations to support the well-being of their employees. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to expanding access to quality mental health care across Virginia.
